Praying Against The Demonic

In fighting against the tide of the demonic there is nothing more powerful than our words.

The tongue has the power of life and death —Proverbs 18:21a

I literally believe this. So I speak two kinds of words. Words of life - faith, belief, affirmation and truth from the Word of God over my life and family. And second, I speak words that bind, cancel, blind, silence and cast out the enemy.

If you could walk with me one morning in the vineyards, you would likely think I’m wacked. I pray out loud. I shout, wave my arms, raise my arms and let the Holy Spirit inspired words flow. The spoken Word in prayer wields great power. I tell the devil he is a liar and my God who is in me is greater than he who is in the world.

I will pray something like this:

In the name of Jesus, I command the demonic spirit of fear, confusion, sadness (any others that have been revealed to me by the Holy Spirit) I cast you into the pit. I silence you and you have no voice. I command the warrior angels sent to protect me to take you to the pit and to cut off your head. I have the authority of Jesus, my Savior, to cancel all assignments of the enemy. No weapon formed against me will prosper.

Angels, I have been given authority to trample of the enemy (Psalm 91). This very moment I trample on him and all his works and effects assigned to my life. I command the demonic into the pit along with all their works and effects. This spirit of fear, anxiety, sadness cannot go to my children nor follow any of my family line. I rebuke it and command it to leave me and my family forever. I plead the blood of Christ over my home and my family. In the name of Jesus and by His authority.

Jesus, I ask that you would surround me and my family (I name each one by name) with a hedge of protection. Place your holy angels around us. Prosper me and my family. Protect our hearts, soul and bodies. I ask for more of Your Presence and your anointing of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Let our homes be a place of safety, freedom, love, security, peace and joy. Lord, help me to bring heaven into our home.

Papa God, thank you for your faithfulness (I name several specifics). Thank you for your blessings and your provision. I will live to publish your deeds among the nations. Let everything I do, say and think, be anointed and inspired by the Kingdom. Thank you for Your Word. I believe it. I will proclaim it. I will use it as a powerful sword to bring freedom and healing to people.

Keep me humble and always looking to You. The only thing important in this world is Your Presence. I praise you. I worship you. I will always be loyal to you. I am your daughter. In Jesus name. Amen.

A Specific Prayer For Healing

Hi my friends.

Many of you know that the Lord has been leading me through understanding and practice of Matthew 18:18-19 and the release of blessing. Well in the past several weeks I've been very ill. I've prayed extensively about healing and health.

In my prayer time the Holy Spirit was working to reveal a bodily system that needed healing and to be brought into alignment.

Through my prayer time, the name: Endocrine came to mind. After I Googled this word I discovered that basically this is our hormonal system which regulates just about everything.

During in my prayer time this morning, specifically I heard the Holy Spirit urge me to share my current prayer and ask you to pray it over yourself as well. So let's bless our health this month and specifically our Endocrine system.

Pray: I bless myself with health and I will walk in the health that is mine as a child of God. I bless my Endocrine system to come into complete alignment with the Kingdom. I will walk in health and remain in health. In Jesus name. Thank you Lord for the blessing of health. Hallelujah and AMEN!!!

Matthew 18 18 19

If you need prayer for specific healing in your body today, please leave me a comment and I will pray in faith for you. In Jesus name, praying for the complete health and healing of the body of Christ. AMEN

I'm Ashamed That I Prayed So Small

Isaiah 58The cell phone buzzed on my desk. Glancing at the name, I whispered a quick prayer, O Lord, help me to say the right things.

“Mom, I want to tell you what happened this morning at church. It’s changed everything.”

NOT what I was expecting.

You see for nine months I’ve been praying for my collage-aged daughter. I’ve spent many hours on the phone with her over the months as she worked through the difficult feelings that accompany a breakup with a boy. She had good days, often I didn’t hear from her then. The bad days arrived and the phone would ring. Tears, sadness, confusion. I often would say the wrong thing and make it worse before I would struggle with word to make it better.

My heart has been broken for her and I grieved as she has been stuck in such a difficult emotional place and her self-esteem has been hammered. Her faith in God has been challenged to the point she questioned the truth of it all. Gulp!

Prayed. I’ve prayed and prayed for months for her. Spoken scriptures in prayer for her. Prayed with her and proclaimed promises from the Word to her on the phone. Each morning in my prayer time I bring her before God asking for Him to heal her heart. Recently my Friday morning prayer group, that meets at my house, prayed for her and her situation.

I’ve prayed so long and finally I began praying a prayer out of desperation, “Lord, send her a new boyfriend. Someone who will be kind and take away this pain.” This seemed like a reasonable prayer and certainly made sense as an acceptable outcome.

Until this phone call. Ugh!

“Mom, the most incredible thing happened. The message at church this morning was all about prayer. About praying and bringing God into our world. Mom, it was in that moment that God showed up. The Holy Spirit spoke so clearly to me to pray for my ex-boyfriend." She went on to share, "We are all just broken people crying out for help. He’s broken. I’m broken. My heart is moved to pray."

I’m stunned in silence as I listen.

She continues, “All the anger inside of me disappeared in a moment and compassion flooded in. All I wanted to do was just ask him how I could pray for him. And then, truly just listen. People are desperate to be heard. I want to listen with a full heart and then pray for him in that moment.”

“O Baby girl.” I gulped back tears and could barely breathe.

“Mom, then I started thinking about all of my friends.” She lists several names, each who are also struggling deeply in their lives. “I want to ask them, ‘How can I pray for you?’ then really listen and pray for them. I know how to pray and for the first time I’m not afraid to just do it.”

“And most importantly, God showed up. He came to me in the moment and my faith is restored.”

As I listened to this young woman who I’ve prayed for nine months, my eyes teared up. “Caitie, it’s just so astounding. I’m humbled. I’m happy.

I prayed for her to not lose this moment and to write down this moment and read it in moments of doubt. “I love you sweetie.”

“Love you too Mom.”

Why am I sharing this story? For several reasons but mostly as a lesson to myself.

You see, I prayed for this kid way to small. I’m ashamed I even spoke words like, give her a new boyfriend. As if God needs suggestions from me…. God showed up bigger than I could have dreamed up or hoped. He knew EXACTLY what the right thing was for my daughter.

As I spent time in prayer the next morning, the Holy Spirit gently took me through some thoughts about how to pray going forward. I need to pray things for those I love such as, “Lord, encounter their heart. Move in love in their lives. Show them who You are and reveal Your great plans for them. Lord, protect them from the evil one.” And then all I could pray for all my family that morning was:

Lord, encounter Caitie’s heart more. Lord, encounter my husband hearts. Lord encounter their hearts. Encounter their hearts. Your wisdom is so great. And I’m sorry I pray such small prayers. Forgive me and teach me to pray Big. In Jesus name. Amen
